20 names were announced today that will be attending camp in 27 days in Tampa. Two of those names are shocking; Duncan and Mirte.
Duncan, apparently was traded earlier this month but somehow must have cleared wavers, and is now back in Scranton. Surprising that this is the first time anyone has heard about it.
Mirte, I thought was coming off surgery and has a suspension. Did I hear wrong, or is someone pulling our legs by legitimately inviting him to camp. Either way its surprising.
This Spring Training also can mean a lot for a young pitcher since its looking more and more positive that Petitte is not coming back. Right now theres a race for that last rotation spot most likely either going to Hughes, Coke, or dare I say it, Igawa. Personally, I would like to see Hughes get it with Coke filling a long reliever position. But I'm probably going to get critized for even saying that.
Who knows what's going to happen one month from now.
